Patrick Anderline Obituary

Patrick Anderline Sr., 88, a longtime resident of Scranton, died Tuesday at the VNA Inpatient Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center. He will be reunited in death with his loving wife of 61 years, Esther, who passed on August 6, 2007, and his son, Nicholas, who departed on July 22, 1989.

Born August 20, 1924, son of the late Margaret and Nicholas Anderline, he was educated in the Scranton School District and a member of St. Paul of the Cross Parish. After serving in the Armed Forces, he worked for 10 years in the coal mines and later retired from M&G Convoy Trucking, where he was employed as a driver after over 35 years of service.

His love of animals showed in the care he took of his beloved pets. He also enjoyed a pastime of fishing and exercising with friends at the YMCA. He looked forward to his visits with his two little buddies, Slugger and Boo-Boo. He made sure he always had Oreo cookies for Slugger and RC Cola for Boo-Boo to enjoy. Also, his grandson, Gary Kozlowski Jr. was always there to lend him a hand when he needed it. He will be missed.

Patrick's family would like to extend a very special thank you to Home Health Care Professionals & Hospice of Eynon, especially Sheila, and to the staff of VNA Hospice for their outstanding care and professionalism.

Surviving are three daughters, Louise Hoffman, Peggy Anderline and Tina Cook, all of Scranton; four sons, Patrick Jr., California; James, Tennessee; Pete, Old Forge; and Sam, Scranton; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Samuel and Nicholas; and sister, Louise Berger.

Private funeral services and interment in Cathedral Cemetery will be conducted at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Patrick F. Guido Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Ave. Please visit www.patrickguidofuneralhome.com for information or to leave an online condolence.
