Paul "Butch" Devers

Paul "Butch" Devers, Scranton, died unexpectedly Sunday.

Born in Scranton in 1941, son of the late Patrick and Mary McCarthy Devers, he was educated in Scranton schools. He was a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Church Parish, attending Mass regularly with his sister Mary.

Surviving are his sister and caregiver, Mary Devers; numerous loving nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by sisters, Patricia and Dorothy Devers; and brothers, Robert, Patrick and Joseph.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave., by the Rev. Patrick McLaughlin, pastor. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass in the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave., Scranton, PA 18510.
