Paul Myshak Obituary

Paul Myshak Sr., 85, of Jermyn, died Sunday at home. His wife, the former Mary Whitiak, died in 1991.

He was born in Jermyn, son of the late Stephen Sr. and Antosh Pash Myshak. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a graduate of Jermyn High School and a member of St. John's Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Mayfield, and American Legion Post 610, Mayfield. He worked for Miller Casket Co., Jermyn, before retiring.

Surviving are a daughter, Diane and husband, Kenneth Truman, Jermyn; a son, Paul Jr. and wife, Elaine Myshak, Mayfield; a sister, Irene Gurka, Jermyn; a brother, Stephen Myshak Jr., Jermyn; three grandsons, Darryl and Patrick Truman, Jermyn; and Justin Myshak, Mayfield; a granddaughter, Melissa Myshak Tolerico, Mayfield; several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Mikowich, Dorothy Petorak and Fanny Gazella, and a brother, John Myshak.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. John's Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Mayfield, with the Very Rev. Mitred Archpriest John Sorochka officiating. Interment, St. Michael's Orthodox Cemetery, Jermyn.

Friends may call at the Battenberg Funeral Home, 363 Washington Ave., Jermyn, today, 4 to 8 p.m. Parastas, 5; transfer to the church at 8.
