Peter Spader Obituary
Born in Kingston, N.Y., he was the son of the late Peter and Rosa Hauck Spader and was a graduate of Kingston High School, Kingston, N.Y. He graduated from the College of Liberal Arts, Alfred University, and he received Ph.D. in philosophy from Columbia University. He has been a professor of philosophy at Marywood University for the past 38 years.
He was a member of the Amateur Radio Relay League for many years with the call sign K2HGO. In addition he was an enthusiastic photographer who enjoyed sharing his best pictures in a variety of settings.
Also surviving are cousins.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Spader.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. in the chapel at Marywood University. Interment will be private.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green Ridge St., Dunmore, or Friday morning from 9 until service time at the chapel at Marywood University.

One of my favorite professors because he made philosophy interesting. He was a dynamic speaker and I still think about the phenomenology course I took with him in the late 80s, early 90s! He also gave me encouragement personally when I needed it. Dr. Spader was one of the best. May perpetual light shine upon him and may he rest in peace.

Thinking of Dr. Spader and sending prayers to his family during this time. What a wonderful teacher whose legacy will live on through the many students he touched during his career! I have fond memories of Dr. Spader from my time at Marywood.

My sincere condolences Nancy...Peter certainly "died with his boots on" but got to his penultimate destination upon finishing his last semester doing what he loved.
