Richard L. Andreoni, 73, of Old Forge, died Monday while hunting in Susquehanna County. He and his wife, the former Ann L. Baldini, recently celebrated 50 years of marriage on September 25th.
Born in Old Forge, son of the late Anthony and Beatrice Chaumpini Andreoni, he was a graduate of Old Forge High School, class of 1966. He had previously been the owner of Old Forge Bottling Company, and before retirement, was employed for more than 40 years with Schott Optical in Duryea, where he served in the capacity of both president and vice president of their union. Rich was a life member of Germania Hose Co., Duryea, where he served as an assistant chief, a trustee, and was active in their fire police, ambulance service and scuba teams. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and had been a member of Prince of Peace Parish in Old Forge.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by their sons, Richard Andreoni and wife, Amy of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., and Chris Andreoni and companion, Jeanine Butts of Avoca; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Andreoni.
His funeral will be Monday with Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church, 200 Stephenson St., Duryea, to be celebrated by the Rev. Fr. Carmen G. Bolock. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore.
On the morning of the Funeral Mass, all family and friends are asked to go directly to the church.
