Robert "Bob" E. Ash, 57, of Scranton, passed away Tuesday peacefully at home after a short, but courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born and raised in Scranton, he was an avid car guy. Never too far from a garage or a toolbox, you could easily find him working on a car or detailing his motorcycle.
He always took time to tell you about his wife Lisa, a story about his grandkids, or about his beloved dogs. His most prized accomplishment was always his family.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lisa Colger Ash; his son, Robert J. Ash and wife, Stephanie; his daughter, Shannon Blackwell and husband, Irving; and his granddaughters, Malice "Meme" Blackwell, Ashlynn "Petey" Blackwell and Irving "Irvie" Blackwell. Also, surviving are his father, Robert V. Ash Jr.; sisters, Dawn Ferguson and husband, David, and Debbie Wilk and husband, Dennis; and so many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary Ann Ash.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 1:15 p.m. in St. Ann's Basilica.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann St., Scranton.
