Robert Goscinski Obituary

Robert R. Goscinski Jr., 51, of Scranton, died unexpectedly Thursday morning after an illness.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Robert R. Goscinski Sr. and Jean McLaughlin Stravinsky, he was educated in Scranton public schools and attended Scranton Technical High School. Throughout his youth, Bobby excelled on the basketball court and his love for the game never waned. He worked as a truck driver for various local businesses. A lover of all animals, he was especially devoted to his cat, Buddy.

In addition to his mother, Bob is survived by two brothers, John Goscinski, Scranton; and Peter Stravinsky, Duryea; several cousins and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, James J. Stravinsky; a brother, Wayne R. Stravinsky; and a stepfather, Peter P. Stravinsky.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, when relatives and friends may call at a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Edward Knight O'Donnell Funeral Home LLC, 323 William St., Scranton, with a blessing service scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, private, at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Twp., PA 18411.
