Robert L. Lohman III, 59, of Old Forge, died Wednesday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit, Dunmore after an illness.
Born Dec. 6, 1964, to the late Robert L. Jr. and Linda Midtgaard Lohman, he was a graduate of the Scranton State School for the Deaf. Bob was the department head of toys/sporting goods at the former Hills Dept. Store and later, Ames, in Green Ridge.
He was past president and treasurer of the former Scranton Society of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. A true fan of Sci-Fi, he loved anything relating to Star Trek and Star Wars. Bob was a definite "Trekkie" in every sense of the word and was one of its most dedicated and enthusiastic followers. He also shared his artistic talents of both drawing and painting with those around him. At Christmas time, his window art could be found adorning many storefronts throughout areas of Scranton. He will be missed dearly by his family, friends and his faithful friend, his pet cat, "Tommy."
Bob's family extends a sincere acknowledgement to Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their incredible kindness, compassion and care when it was needed most.
Surviving are his beloved brothers, Michael Lohman (wife, Tracy), of Old Forge; and Nicholas Lohman (wife, Wendy), of Duryea; a stepbrother, Chris Cimakosky (wife, Danielle), of Hanover Twp.; his loving nieces, Dakota Lohman and Mikaela Lohman, Alissa Everetts and Courtney Cimakosky; aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral service by Monsignor Thomas M. Muldowney will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Ferri & Gillette Funeral Services LLC, 522 Fallon St., Old Forge. Interment with committal rites will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Relatives and friends are invited to a public viewing Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
