Robert J. McAllister of Dunmore died peacefully at home on Sunday surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sharon Bryan McAllister.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late William and Mary Cirba McAllister. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School, class of 1964. He attended the University of Scranton. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Prior to retirement, he was a master plumber who worked for Mercy Hospital of Scranton and retired as project manager from Walter Reed Medical Center, Washington, D.C. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Dunmore.
Also surviving are his children, Erin Klatt and husband, Kevin, of Dunmore; son, Robert and wife, Glenda, of Burke, Virginia; two brothers, James, of St. Augustine, Florida; and Brian and wife, Kathy, of Allentown, Pennsylvania; and sister, JeanneAnne and husband, Paul Pisarz, of St. Augustine, Florida; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Friday from the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green Ridge St., Dunmore, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut St., Dunmore. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. All those attending the funeral are asked to proceed directly to the church on Friday.
