Stella Guzior Obituary
Stella Guzior, 99, a resident of the Minooka section of Scranton and most recently of the Linwood Nursing Home, entered eternal rest on Friday.
Daughter of the late John and Catherine Mish Bielavitz, she attended Minooka schools and retired from the Sauquoit Silk Mill. Stella enjoyed family gatherings with her brothers and sisters, along with their children and grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to polka. Most recently, her favorite pastime involved the casino and slot machines. She had incredible health her entire life and enjoyed her home and garden until the age of 99.
Surviving are her sister-in-law, Eve Bielavitz; brother-in-law, Tony Guzior and wife, Isabelle; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Stephen Guzior and George Rolla; sisters, Stephanie Lipinsk, Frances Zulpa, Harriet Haynos, Mary Bysar and Mildred Popish; and brothers, Walter, John, Joe and Chester Bielavitz, and infant, Stanley.
The family would like to thank Dr. Diakiw and the staff at Linwood Nursing Home for their care given to Stella.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Divine Mercy Parish, Davis Street, by the Rev. Frances Pauselli, pastor. Interment, St. Mary of Czestochowa Cemetery, Moosic.
Friends may call from noon to 12:45 p.m. at the Eagen-Hughes Funeral Home, 2908 Birney Ave., Scranton.
