Thomas Kane Obituary

Thomas W. Kane, 62, died on Nov. 20 at Harrisburg Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Scranton on Oct. 31, 1953, and was the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth Henning Kane.

He graduated from Central High School and served in the Army. He was employed by COLTS bus.

Thomas was a resident of Park Gardens for many years, where he was known as a gentle man who loved his neighbor. They in turn remembered him, especially Sharon Stanvitch and Hilda Balinas. They gave selflessly to Tom, and their devotion will always be treasured.

Thomas is survived by his cousins, Edward/Judith Henning, Alexandria, Va., and Mary Finnan, Avoca.

A Mass was celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Arlington, Va., in celebration of his life.

Arrangements: Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green Ridge St., Dunmore.

I am so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. We were in Holy Rosary together and then went to Central together. We even started in ESSC together as well. Please know that My prayers are with you and your family.

I am heart broken to hear of Tom's death. He was such a wonderful person. We met at Central HS and graduated together in 1971. After 35 years I heard he worked for Colts. I waited in front of the Globe Store and boarded his bus to ask if he remembered me! He said not my face but my voice:) We chatted a while and he agreed to attend the CHS 35 year reunion. It was so great to see him there and watch him reminisce with old friends. I am so thankful for that event and feel blessed to have these memories to cherish. Rest In Peace, Dear Tom.

Tom was one of the finest athletes in our Central HS Class of '71. I got to know him from our track team and he was a great guy who never had a bad word for anyone. Always that great smile on his face. Rest in peace my friend.
