Todd Alton Borders, 53, of Cape Cod, Mass., ended his courageous four-year battle with cancer on Saturday, Feb. 26, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Scranton.
Born in New Haven, Conn., he was the son of Alton C. Borders II and Susan Day Borders, Crystal Lake. He moved to Foxborough, Mass. at the age of 2. After graduating from Foxborough High School in 1986, he attended the New England Institute of Technology to study carpentry. He spent the next 20 years building homes on Cape Cod and the surrounding area. In his free time, he enjoyed riding snowmobiles and ATVs at his camp in the beautiful God's country of Pittsburg, New Hampshire. His love for New England sports showed when he religiously attended Patriots games like church on Sundays for more than 30 years. Todd was fortunate enough to go to three Patriots Super Bowls in his lifetime. Todd lived his life through the famous motto of the State of New Hampshire, "Live Free or Die."
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Craig Borders and wife, Lisa, and their three daughters, Jessica, McKinley and Madalyn, all of Crystal Lake.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alton and Beth Borders; his maternal grandparents, George and Louise Day; and his loyal dog, Nicky.
The funeral will be Wednesday in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home Inc., 55 Lincoln Ave., Carbondale, with services at 4:30 p.m. by Pastor Wayne Wolfe. Friends may call Wednesday, from 2:30 p.m. until service time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pittsburg Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club, 17 Dickson Lane, Pittsburg, NH 03592; or the Allied Services Hospice Center, 511 Morgan Highway, Scranton, PA 18508.
