Veronica M. Cesari of Throop died at home on Saturday, Sept. 3, after a short illness. Veronica and her husband, Vincent Cesari, celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on Aug. 26.
Born Dec. 28, 1927, in Throop, daughter of the late John and Margaret Czerwinski Romanowsky. She graduated from Throop High School class of 1945. Before retiring, she worked for Waite and Bond Cigar Co. and RCA. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish. She was an avid Phillies fan and an original member of the Mid Valley Booster Club. She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their special care.
She was preceded in death by a son, Vincent Cesari Jr.; sisters, Mary Biscontini, Louise Bryla; and brother, John Romanowsky; along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Richard and wife, Julie, of Dickson City; daughter-in-law, Deborah Barnick Cesari, of Throop; grandchildren, Ami Battle, Vincent Cesari III and Jolie Cesari, of Throop; Melaina and husband, Gerard Dolinsky, of Scott Twp.; James and Cyndee Cesari, of Burbank, California; and Jonathan Cesari, of Dickson City.
The viewing will be held Thursday, Sept. 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 445 Sanderson St., Throop. The Altar and Rosary Society will recite the rosary at 6:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Sept. 9, at 9:30 a.m., in Blessed Sacrament Parish at St. Anthony's Church, 215 Rebecca St., Throop. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. All those attending Mass are asked to go directly to church. Masks are encouraged at viewing.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Veronica's name to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Blessed Sacrament Parish or the charity of your choice.
