William Lawrence Reese passed away peacefully at home Friday, Sept. 2, surrounded by the love and support of his family and friends.
The family is so very grateful for the valiant efforts of Dr. Lauren Schaff and her team at Memorial Sloan Kettering during Bill's brave battle with brain cancer.
Bill was born June 7, 1968, and was raised by William and Jean (Rabioli) Reese in Wellsboro. He graduated from Wellsboro High School in 1986 and went on to study HVAC at Penn Tech in Williamsport, later transferring to Mansfield University once he met the love of his life, Genevieve (Logan). After marrying in 1994, Genni and Bill started their family in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania and worked together at the Sterling Inn and French Manor. While completing his bachelor's degree in tourism management at East Stroudsburg University, an opportunity to take a physics class ironically awakened an untapped love for the mechanics of brewing beer. Add some best friends, music and a lot of trial and error to the equation, and the result is Jam Room Brewing Company – their vision come true.
Bill loved his family, friends and community, always willing to serve. He loved being a member of the Newfoundland Area Ambulance Association and his time as Dreher Twp. supervisor. He enjoyed his annual kayak trip with friends on Pine Creek in Tioga County and always had time for a musical event with friends.
He is survived by his wife and his children, Regina Carol, 28 (boyfriend Dave Griffiths), William Patrick, 26 (girlfriend Amanda Russo), and Alden Barker. He is also survived by one brother, Louis Watson Reese of Caitlin Hollow, Pa., his Jam Room brothers and their families, brother and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
A private graveside service has been planned at the family's convenience. Friends are welcome to call 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, at Frey-Fetsock Funeral Home in La Anna. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations for the Wayne County Community Foundation - Newfoundland Library Community Account.
