Anna Schreiner Obituary

Anna M. Schreiner Marine City Anna M. Schreiner, 95, formerly of Allen Park, entered into Eternal Life on Saturday, July 17, 2010. She was born in Apatin (Austria-Hungary) on the Danube on October 14, 1914, a daughter to the late Anton and Anna (Lippert) Holzhauer. She married Karl T. Schreiner on May 1, 1934 in Apatin and he preceded her in death on July 27, 2006. Anna protected her young sons and her mother through two brutal years in a communist concentration camp and during a brave escape to freedom. Anna's love and integrity set a great example for all. She will be greatly missed. Mrs. Schreiner was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and reading. Anna is survived by her sons, Anton F. (Clara Gall) Schreiner of North Carolina and Walter (Kathleen Treppa) Schreiner of Marine City; grandchildren, Erik (Stacie) Schreiner of NC, Elizabeth Schreiner of NC and Franz-Robert Schreiner of PA; great granddaughter, Sophie of NC; sister-in-law, Elisabeth Egles; brother-in-law, Thomas Schreiner; and nieces, Rosl Antoni, Helga Momirov, Christl Balogh and Karin Egles. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Karl; and brothers, Anton (Marie) Holzhauer and Franz Egles. Services will take place on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. in Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City, with interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Mrs. Schreiner's family will welcome visitors in the funeral home on Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 10 - 11 a.m. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, to honor the memory of Anna Schreiner, may be made to Holy Cross Church, 610 S. Water St., Marine City 48039.
