Dear Paul and family,

I had the pleasure of working with Dorothy at Port Huron Hospital where I learned what a remarkable woman she was. Intelligent, kind and caring, Dorothy was a respected professional and a lovely person. I will never forget her.

April 19, 2019

I have had the pleasure of working with Dorothy over the years for the STS database. I am based in Cincinnati. I have asked Dorothy many questions over the years and she always responded promptly.
Sometimes , even on a Saturday. I will miss her greatly. Although, I never met her in person, I felt I knew her. She was always very kind and complimentary. I am very sorry for your loss.

It was an honor and true pleasure to know Dorothy for the last 6+ years through ARMUS and the STS. She significantly increased my knowledge and love for clinical data as she did for so many others. I will miss her genuine soul and smile here on this Earth, but am confident the Lord greeted her with open arms saying "Well Done, My good and faithful servant. Well Done." Cheers to you, friend. All my love to you and yours.

My sympathies to the entire Latham family. Dottie and I were classmates from kindergarten in '57 till graduation day in June, 1970. She was always a wonderful person who helped and befriended everyone she met. Dottie was a very warm, kind and caring girl. Our fathers worked together in the St. Clair DPW. After '70, I hadn't seen Dottie till 2008 when I was being prepped for quad bypass open heart surgery and found that my old classmate was the one prepping me and would be there during the surgery. If I had any apprehensions about having my heart stopped, undergoing open heart surgery and being on a heart-lung machine for hours they disappeared as soon as I saw Dottie would be taking care of me. I knew right then that I was in the best hands and no longer had any fear of my surgery.. After the surgery, she checked in on me every day that I was in Port Huron Hospital 6th floor Heart wing. Like Dottie, my wife had a calling to be a nurse as well, and they are both Angels of Mercy. Dottie is now literally an Angel of Mercy. I will always remember her as a very sweet lady who took excellent care of me at a time when I needed it most... I am deeply saddened at your loss and was shocked when I read of her passing- for I always envisioned Dottie as indestructible. R.I.P. Dottie.. I feel deeply honored to have known you as you are a very special person .....and thankyou

My sister was a gift to my heart, a friend to my spirit, a golden thread to the meaning of life. A gigantic hole is now present in my heart. My grace is knowing she is in a far better place. She is with Mom and Dad, brothers and son. I'm sorry she had to leave so early. We were supposed to grow old together. I loved her!

You were the first woman to greet me at PHYC and make me feel at home....coming out of West with a smile...you said the best way to get to know people was to join committees...Doug and I took your advice and a year later graduated to East. You, and Paul, were kind and helpful to us. I know The Lord holds you now Dorothy. I pray for Paul and your family...that they find comfort & strength in Easter's message and peace in the memories of you.

Dear Paul and family,
To us, the many RNs abstracting STS cases across our country, Dorothy was the smartest and kindest lady at our STS conferences. We clamored to get into her teaching sessions. And now we are so saddened to hear of her passing.
She was ever patient and so articulate in answering our unending questions.
I wrote to her weekly from my home in California with my questions at all hours of the night. She so capably answered, making complex things simple and obtuse things crystal clear.
On occasion Dorothy and I enjoyed a personal moment. Like when my cat walked across my keyboard and prematurely sent my question to Dorothy! She responded so politely, calmly stating, "I'm not sure what your question is .. .." Then we talked cats and keyboards and a little bit of life too.
I will miss your sweet Dorothy and ever wish that I had the opportunity to know her better.
Thank you to each of you for sharing her with all of us.
