Julia E. Duffy
Fort Gratiot
Julia E. Duffy, age 65, of Fort Gratiot died suddenly on June 13, 2016 after an accidental fall. She was born to John and Delores Roach on February 12, 1951 in Fairborn, Ohio. She married Michael J. Duffy Jr. on October 9, 1971 in Dayton, Ohio. Julia attended St. Clair County Community College where she received her nursing degree and St. Joseph College in Standish, Maine for her bachelor's degree. She served in the United States Army, at the rank of Specialist 4 from January 1974 to January 1975, at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. She has lived in Blue Water area since 1977. Julia was a blood drive supervisor for Southeastern Michigan American Red Cross. She also enjoyed playing the Viola in the New Horizons Orchestra.
She is survived by her husband, Michael J. Duffy Jr.; 2 sons, Michael J. (Kristin) Duffy IV, and Benjamin J. (Kate) Duffy; 4 grandchildren, Nora, Charles, Annabel, and Molly Duffy; a brother, Timothy Roach; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will take place at 11 AM Saturday in the Smith Family Funeral Home - North, 1525 Hancock Street with The Rev. Lydia Speller officiating. Visitation will also be on Saturday beginning at 9 AM in the funeral home. Memorials may be made at the donor's discretion. www.smithfamilyfuneralhome.com.

I wish we would not have waited til after your last treatment to meet up.I am thankful that you searched me out on FB.I will forever cherish my memories as nurses and the plenty of laughs we had.RIP Julia

Dear Mike and family: I was shocked and saddened to see Julia's obituary this morning. She always seemed so kind and gentle whenever I would see her...usually while donating blood. We will certainly be keeping you in our prayers.
