Karen Mason Obituary
Lakeport - Karen L. Mason, age 70, of Lakeport died June 17, 2018 at McLaren Port Huron after a long battle with COPD. She was born October 7, 1947 in Port Huron to Louis and Wave Jones and was a lifelong area resident. Karen was very close with her parents. She married Ron Mason on May 31, 1986 in Port Huron. Karen enjoyed camping, bowling, reading, Christmas, and watching her grandchildren play sports. The moment she retired, she was excited to have grandchildren to love and take care of. Karen also was a supporter of the Blue Water Area Humane Society, and memorials may be made in her memory to them.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald W. Mason, a son, Michael (Becky) Cooper, 2 grandchildren, Jenna and Bradley Cooper, her brother, Dennis (Linda) Jones, a niece, Kimberly (Gilbert) Sanchez, and Cory (Peggy) Jones, and several other nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will take place at 11 AM Friday at the Smith Family Funeral Home - North, 1525 Hancock Street. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home, and on Friday beginning at 10AM. www.smithfamilyfuneralhome.com.

I will always remember Karen as "the cool Mom" for allowing Mike to borrow her car for "good, clean highschool fun"

Loved my sister dearly , never heard her complain, and she always stayed positive .She loved her family and no matter how ill she was , she was there. Miss you sis (UGLY ) , KAREN knew what that meant!

Karen was always fun to be around and I will always remember how uplifting she was. I enjoyed working with her at AT&T.
