Marilyn Barr Obituary

Marilyn K. Barr Lexington Marilyn Kay Barr, age 69, of Lexington, took her first breath in heaven peacefully and painlessly on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 in Brown City. She was surrounded with her family's love after a brief illness. She was born November 29, 1941 in Allen Park, daughter of the late Frank and Virginia (Decker) Sparrow. Marilyn and Larrie were married August 8, 1959 in Croswell. They retired and spent 10 years wintering in El Mirage, AZ. The last 5 years were spent in Lexington RV Park. Marilyn loved to spend time with her friends visiting, playing cards, shuffleboard, and water volleyball. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a school bus driver for Cros-Lex Schools for 24 years and attended Croswell United Methodist Church. Marilyn will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 52 years, Larrie Paul Barr; daughter, Kimberly (Bill) Ginther; son, Paul (Cathy) Barr; 9 gradnchildren, Trisha (Fred) Schoen, Travis (Kelly) Ginther, Jeremy (Tammy) Ginther, Chelcie Barr, Kayla Barr, Amanda (Aaron) Gravish, Halie Barr, Brandon Barr and Austin Barr; 10 great-grandchildren, Karlie, Alyssa Marie, Alyssa Riann, John, Brooke, Hunter, Alexander, Abigail, Kendall and McKenzie; 2 sisters, Janette (Jerry) Sparrow and Beverly (John) Riccio; brother-in-law, Thomas (Sue) Barr; and sisters-in-law, Bessie Gray, Diane Burgess, and Melanie (Leonard) Day. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Barr on January 27, 2006, and her grandson, Derek Paul Barr. Funeral Service will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Croswell U. Methodist Church. The Rev. Nick Genoff will officiate. Visitation will be 2 - 9 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2011 at Pomeroy Funeral Home, Croswell, and 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church. Larry and the entire Barr and Sparrow families,

I was saddened to hear of Marilyn's health problems and even more sad to hear that she passed away. I have fond memories of the whole family, particularly when we lived in Michigan. I'll be thinking of all of you.
