Steven Rutallie Obituary
St. Clair Twp.
56, went to be with Jesus on November 5, 2013 after his brave 10 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Steve was born September 20, 1957 in Detroit to Tom and Genevieve (Dolly) Rutallie. Siblings: Jerome (Mary) Rutallie, Gini (Dan) Brodzik, Patrice Abraham and Teresa (Kirk) Aichinger.Steve married his high school sweetheart, Debra Coppola, on June 4, 1977.
His hobbies included summers at the cottage at Houghton Lake, hunting, riding his Harley with friends, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Steve was mechanically minded, often sought out as Mr. Fix-It. He was lovingly called "Papa" by his beloved grandchildren, whom he adored. Steve had a never ending love for his family. He made a mark in the lives of many youth as volunteer mentor at Life of Faith Fellowship. Steve was self-employed at Handyman Home Improvements, Foreman at Special Tool and J.B. Rath, and Mold Maker at Venture Tool & Die.
Steve is survived by the love of his life, Debra; children, Rosie (Shawn) Gearhart, Tom Rutallie, Mike (Sarah) Rutallie; grandchildren, Zoe, Haven, Saige, Lillian, and Weston; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tony and Helen Coppola. We are all proud of the hardworking, loving provider Steve was.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Rutallie.
A Memorial Service in honor of Steve's life will be held Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Hillside Wesleyan Church, 5114 North River Road, Clyde Twp, MI 48049; visitation from 10:00a.m., service at 11:00 a.m.; luncheon following.
