William A. Braidwood

Toccoa, GA

William A. Braidwood, age 85, went to be with his Lord September 19, 2015 in his home at 167 Sunset Lane, Toccoa, Georgia. A son of the late William H. and Beatrice (Rix) Braidwood, he was born on January 27, 1930 in RoyaL Oak Twp., Michigan.

Bill graduated from Port Huron High School in 1948. During college he sang in a gospel quartet. Bill graduated in 1955 from Owosso Bible College in Owosso, Michigan with a Bachelor of Theology degree. He did missionary work in South Dakota with Sioux Indians and ranchers. He taught Sunday School classes. Bill was a manager for Thom McAn shoes in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Lansing Michigan Community College. He enjoyed photography and researched his family tree and wrote a genealogy book, "Braidwoods from Scotland."

He was preceded in death by his son, Lon William Braidwood, age 49, on May 22, 2013. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Zola (Kidder) Braidwood; daughter, Karen and Daniel Evearitt; daughter-in-law, Ann Braidwood; brother, Duane and Michele Braidwood; sister, Penny and David Klawon; sister of Zola, Lilah Bowles; and nieces and nephews.

It was a joy to see his face and read about his successful life. I Know he is missed by all who knew him. We enjoyed knowing him from the Alliance church. Karen has so many of his gracious ways.

Aunt Zola and Karen I was saddened to hear of Uncle Bill's passing. I know he is in Heaven now just waiting for you to join him. There is no more pain and suffering for him.

It is certain that tears will flow since you enjoyed so many years together. We feel deep sorrow for you loss. At the same time, we rejoice at his freedom from illness, and pain. We rejoice that he is enjoying the presence of the One who gave His life for His salvation. I am certain there is a wonderful joy at seeing all of his loved ones as well as an overwhelming awe at the beauty of HEAVEN.
