I just wanted to tell you how very sorry I am for your loss. Our son was @ Cop Keating May 09 until the battle on Oct 3rd. I was looking at pictures through mutual friends on facebook and saw pictures of your son Ed and saw that he was injured and then read a post by Dannelly that he had passed away. His life and how he chose to live it is a testiment to the kind of man he was. He honored his family, his country and God. We will never forget his sacrifice. He is a TRUE AMERICAN HERO. God Bless you all, and yes, you WILL see him again. He lives in Sweet Sweet Victory.

In His Everlasting Love

Written by Edward "Ed" Wesley Faulkner Jr. on September 11, 2001. He wrote this in his English class at Western Alamance High School. He was 18 years old.

I was in class this morning,
Looking at the clock
Wishing time would go fast.

Then I got the news.
Teacher turns on the television,
A tragic sight,
The whole nation was at fright.

Oh yes, there will be a fight.
America will have complete victory,
For we know what is right.

I believe, most of all,
That our Majesty in the sky
Will lead each one of us out of this Tragedy.
For HE is the Almighty,
The Leader and Creator of the human race.

There's coming the day
When this world will end;

We will all lay down.

For the people that did wrong,
There is going to be a price to pay.

All I can do is pray.

On this day a soldier was born, our son Ed. Two purple hearts & a life well lived. First for his family & second for the United States of America. Rest In Peace Our Son & Soldier.

So my Ed, my son. I can only picture what JOY you have experienced since entering the presence of the Lord. A man of God who may not have spent many years on this earth, but neither did Jesus. My Ed died young but the life he lived over the last few years took a real man to live it. The sheer glory of feeling the presence of the ONE who paid the ultimate sacrifice for all of us and have HIM embrace you Ed and speak the words YOU ARE SAFE NOW, YOU ARE HOME, YOU CAN REST."

To God be the Glory for my Ed. I look forward when we are in heaven together.

I LOVE YOU FOREVER & EVER AMEN,
Your Momma

Rest easy, Ed.
I'll always remember the good times that we had on the golf course and the family beach trips.
You'll always be a hero to the family and especially to Lauren.

We love you and miss you.

October 20, 2010

You were and still are a great brother and I want you to know that you have accomplished enough for two lifetimes! You served our country so bravely and now you can rest. I am so sad that you and I can't grow old together and share our earthly memories together however, I know that you are in heaven watching over Lauren and I. Lauren misses you deeply and she has laid on your grave and cried for you. Your big Sis used to watch over you and now its your turn to watch over me! I love you with all of my heart, please come to visit me in my dreams!
Love Always and Forever

Life is but a stopping place, A
pause in what's to be a resting place,Along the road to sweet eternity. We all have different journey's, different paths along the way, we all were meant to learn some things, But never meant to stay...our destination is a place far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
for some the journey's slow. And when the journey finally ends,We'll claim a great reward and find an everlasting
peace together with the Lord.
We Love You ED

Our dear & beloved son Edward "Ed" Wesley Faulkner, Jr. departed the love of his family a month ago yesterday, September 16, 2010. Ed has found healing in God's tender embrace & now lives with the saints. We will never stop missing you. Your candle is in the window burning as bright as your life did. When you were in the wars we talked about how our heartstrings stretched as far as needed. Now our heartstrings connect to yours in heaven. Our son, our heart. Thank you God for giving us this beautiful soul on July 6, 1983. Rest in peace til we see those beautiful blues eyes waiting for us.

When you see soldiers, stop & thank them, give them a hug, listen to their stories. There is pain that sometimes you can't see. Understand that their lives are changed forever, serving our great nation. Share your time & love.

Ed, we love you forever & ever, AMEN,
Momma & Dad

Dear Sharon, Ed, & family, I was deeply saddened on my arrival home from Ireland on Saturday night to hear about the grief you have endured with the passing of your loving son Edward, Jr.

Since, hearing of his injuries, I have held him in my thoughts over the months knowing that he was serving our nation with honor and pride.

My dear father (your uncle)often told me stories about his service in World War I, and how he went in an energetic young man, but returned home a very different man after enduring the horrors of war.

I remember my mother always telling me she had seen little Ed when you came to visit your mom and dad, and she was delighted whenever she had the opportunity to see him. She thought he was a little sweetie as well as Sarah.

May God, forever, bless Ed and all our brave young men and women who have given their lives, and continue to bless those who still serve our great nation.

Sharon, Ed, you are in my thoughts and prayers always with love, cousin J.Fay

Sharon and Edward: I just learned of your loss and wanted to let you know how truly sorry and appreciative I am for Ed's passing and service. Although we were very close in high school I never had the opportunity meet your children but I know with the two of you as parents they were and are wonderful children. I cannot imagine the pain and loss you are feeling but want you to know that your family is in my heart and prayers and my love for you is as strong as ever. When you feel like contacting me please do because I would love to talk to you! Always know that God will carry you through these times so rest your burdens on him and allow him to hold you in his arms.

Sharon, Edward, Sarah and Family. Kenny and I send our heartfelt sympathies to you all. I can't even being to image how heavy your hearts must be.

Here is something I cut out of the newspaper years ago and keep in my Bible. I have instructed my family this is to be read at my memorial some day. I hope the words help in some small way.

"Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain; I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight; I am the soft star that shines at night Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there; I did not die.

Take care and God is with you have no doubt.

With Heartfelt Sympanthy
Susie & Kenny Higgins.

Dear Cousin Sharon and Edward and family,
I just returned home from the Rehoboth Baptist Church where today everyone learned about Ed's homegoing. Of course, hearts were saddened but also comforted that Ed will not have to suffer anymore. Ed served his country to the limit and his bravery and courage will always be remembered. Normally, we would have prayed at church for Ed's healing and well being, but today he is healed (!!), so we prayed for all of you instead. God is merciful and will bring His blessings out of this sad occasion. I wish I could be there with you tomorrow, but I have jury duty and cannot get excused. Please know that I am praying for all of you and please remember me at this most difficult time in my life. As you all know so well at this time, there are many things we don't understand, but God understands and He has everything under control. So pray for me as I pray for you. I love all of you, Cousin Homer.

Dear Edward and Sharon, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your son Ed. I know he served his country honorable and with great personal cost. For that we can all be grateful to him. I interviewed Ed's parents for a story in the Times-News a few years ago. I did not get a chance to communicate much with him as part of writing the article, but feel as though I learned a good bit about who he was and what he stood for. I wish I had met him but feel blessed to have learned as much as I did and feel a bond with his family. I deeply admire Ed for his service to the cause of freedom.

Sharon, Ed and Sarah,
Words cannot express the depth of my sympathy. It seems like only yesterday when Ed showed up at my house with his arms behind his back and asked if Lindsey could come out and play. When she came to the door, he quickly revealed the huge water gun from behind his back, looked her in the eyes and joyfully asked, "You want to have a water gun fight?" And so, a friendship was born.

I pray that the God of all comfort will walk through this dark valley with you and the Holy Spirit will draw near to each of you and give you peace. You will remain in our prayers.
In Him who is able,
Alisa Cornetto

So sorry to hear about Ed's passing. He had a heart of gold and always knew how to light up the room.

My fondest memory of Ed was when he came over to our home to tell me he was enlisting in the Army, he just lit up with pride.

I also remember the day he was shipping out for MOS school and he was wearing his Class A's and I happen to be shipping off to my permanent duty station from the Greensboro Airport at the same time... he looked so handsome and almost like a totally different person. I could see how proud you guys were of him. I feel lucky to have known Ed for over 20 years.
