Joyce Isley Murdock

Joyce Isley Murdock, 93, of the Homeplace of Burlington passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 following one year of declining health.

A native of Alamance County, she was the loving wife of 66 ½ years to the late Junior Massey "J.M." Murdock and the daughter of John L. Isley and Sallie Holt Isley, both deceased. She formerly worked for Kayser Roth and General Electric. Joyce was a lifelong member of Friendship United Methodist Church and the Philathia Sunday School Class. She enjoyed participating at church and was very active until her health declined.

Survivors included her sisters, Sadie Allen of Snow Camp, Betty Fogleman of Liberty, and Geraldine Smith of Burlington and a brother, Bruce Isley of Burlington. She was also survived by her loving niece and caregiver, Wanda T. Murray and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Murdock was preceded in death by two brothers, Brodie Isley and Elmer J. Isley and three sisters, Bernice Thompson, Mabel Isley, and Margie Holt.

The funeral service will be conducted at Friendship United Methodist Church on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends in the Fellowship Hall of the church from 1:15 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
