Katie Sue Gwynn Moore

BURLINGTON - Katie Sue Gwynn Moore, 64, transitioned on February 1, 2021. She was the daughter of the late John Willie Gwynn Sr. and Annie Sellars. She was married to Robert Moore of the home.

Katie graduated from Western Alamance High School class of 1974. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She loved to cook and was known as "Aunt Katie" to many in the community. Katie loved everybody. She also loved to shop. She loved to spend time her family and loved spending time with her granddaughter Kayla.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband: Robert Moore of the home, her daughter: Taura Knight (Tyrone) of the home, brothers: Larry Gwynn Sr. (Brenda) of Elon and Leonard Gwynn of Burlington; sisters: Lorine Michael, Mae Frances Poteat both of Burlington and Gloria Headen of Greensboro; two grandchildren: Kayla and Jalen; god children: Emmanuel Wilson and Amanda Alston; best friend Lillian Farrish; step children: Jeremy Boswell, Missie Boswell, Natoria Boswell and Latoria Boswell; step grandchildren: La'Bryant Boswell, Jaquell Love, Dynasty Love and Leontae Boswell, Tyshona Knight, Devin Knight, Destiny Knight, Destiny Poole and Kentral Holt. as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Lucky Walker and her siblings: John Willie Gwynn Jr., Monroe Gwynn, Vernell Gwynn, James Elton Gwynn, Nellie Cates and Judy Gwynn.

Public viewing will be held from 1-8pm in the Mary Blackwell Chapel on Friday, February 5, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday, February 6, 2021 in the Roy Blackwell Chapel with the family arriving at 2:00pm. Burial will be held in North Lawn Cemetery.
