Richard Dickerson Obituary
BURLINGTON -Mr. Richard H. "Dick" Dickerson Sr., 66, of 616 Greenwood Drive, Burlington, died at his residence on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 8:35 a.m. following several months of declining health.
A native of Davidson County, he was the husband of Lois K. Dickerson, who survives and the son of Obed Perry Dickerson and Callie Mae Griggs Dickerson, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a retired communication technician with AT&T. He was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church where he worked in the special education ministry.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include his son, Richard H. "Ritchie" Dickerson Jr. of Burlington; his daughters, Debra Crabbe Hall and husband, Barry of Martinsburg, Pa., Candice "Kandi" Crabbe Carter and husband, Beale of Burlington and Malynda Dickerson and Jesse of Haw River; nine grandchildren, Charlona Wade, Keisha Wade Mincey, CTT2 Jonathan B. Carter, USN, Shanell Wade, Forrest Carter, Richard H. "Trey" Dickerson III, Seth Dickerson, Brianna Dickerson and Sierra Dickerson; three great-grandchildren, Makaylie Wade, Lucian Mincey and Cali-Lynn Wade; a niece, Teresa Ann Frazier; two nephews, Randy Frazier and Chris Frazier; and his beloved dog, "Buster."
He was preceded in death by his sister, Perry Ann Frazier.
The funeral will be conducted at Grove Park Baptist Church on Monday, January 26, 2009 at 11 a.m. by Dr. Gene Hunsinger and the Rev. Bill Vickrey. The entombment will be in the Mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park following the service.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Sunday from 5 until 7 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or to the Special Education Ministry, Grove Park Baptist Church, 108 Trail One, Burlington, N.C. 27215.

MY HEART GOES OUT TO THE ENTIRE FAMILY.... I KNOW YOU WILL MISS DICK VERY MUCH.... HE WAS ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO BE AROUND WHEN I HAD THE CHANCE TO BE IN HIS COMPANY.
