Shelby Jean Medley Coleman
Burlington - Shelby Jean Medley Coleman, 79, of Burlington, passed away Wednesday, July, 28, 2021 at her home after several months of declining health.
A native of Thomasville, Mrs. Coleman was the wife of Billy Mack Coleman and the daughter of the late Tommy Andrews Medley and the late Margaret Orlando King Medley.
Mrs. Coleman was the owner of The #1 Cake Lady and was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Coleman was an avid flower and vegetable gardener, she enjoyed shopping, going to the beach and spending time with her many friends. She was a regular at Western Steak House and Mayflower Seafood. She also loved her cats. She especially enjoyed spending time with "all her good-looking men."
She is survived by her husband, Billy Coleman of the home; three daughters, Donna Coleman McMasters and her husband, Howard "Shorty" McMasters, of Burlington, Wendy Ivey of Burlington, Donna Nicole Coleman and boyfriend, Kevin Garrett of Liberty; grandson, Billy Lee Michael Coleman; sister, Nancy McNeil and her partner, George Thomas; sister-in-law, Katherine Phillips; brother-in-law, Leroy Coleman; and many loving nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Polly Kolz, James Bridges, Johnny Medley and Frances Aldridge; and the father that raised her, Rowland Bridges.
A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, August 5, 2021 in the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham.
