Willie Pennington Obituary

Willie "Billie" Marie Stuckey Pennington, 88, of Asheville passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 22, 2019 in her home at Harmony at Reynolds Mountain. Born September 15, 1930 in Burlington, NC, she was a daughter of the late William Rudolph Stuckey and Tessie Virginia Paul Stuckey. She was an alumnus of both the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing where she received B.S. in Nursing and Bowman Gray Center for Medical Education where she received her Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist degree. Billie was employed most of her career and retired from Iredell Memorial Hospital. Of her many hobbies, reading a good book and knitting were among her favorites. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, James Stuckey. Surviving are her sons, Scott Pennington and his spouse, Debra, of Rollingwood, TX, and Chris Pennington and his spouse, Serina, of Fairview, NC; siblings, Carol Rush of Culpepper, VA, and Gailes Stuckey and his spouse, Carole, of Graham, NC; and 5 wonderful grandchildren. A memorial service will be announced at a later date at www.ashevilleareaalternative.com. The family would like to acknowledge both the staff at Harmony at Reynolds Mountain and Four Seasons Hospice for the exceptional and compassionate care that they provided Mrs. Pennington, and Rose Star as well.
