Bobbie Hamby

It is with great sadness
that the family of Bobbie
E. Hamby, announces her
passing Tuesday, Oct. 7,
2025.
A daughter of the late
John and Eleanor Tucker
Eidson, she was born Aug.
19, 1936, in Clarke County,
Georgia having lived most
of her life in Stephens
County. Bobbie was a won-
derful wife, mother,
friend, and a selfless per-
son who loved her commu-
nity, and gardening. She
was always the most
graceful hostess, loved to
entertain, and treated ev-
eryone with respect and
love. Throughout her life
she was involved with the
Cherokee Garden Club,
president of Brenau Col-
lege Alumni Association, a
real estate agent, member
of The Ladies "Fun"
Bridge Club and Currahee
Arts Guild. She was fond
of painting, traveling with
her friends, fashion and
known for her beautiful
hats.
She is survived by four
children, five grandchil-
dren and three great-
grandchildren and by a
sister-in-law, Shirley Bur-
ton, of Cornelia, Ga. In ad-
dition to her parents, she
was preceded in death by
her husband of 67 years,
Robert E. Hamby, by a sis-
ter, Barbara Wiggins and
by a grandson, Nowlan
Allen.
Graveside services will
be held Friday, Oct. 10,
2025, 2 p.m. at the Toccoa
City Cemetery with the
Rev. Brett Sanders officiat-
ing. The following gentle-
men will serve as pallbear-
ers: Robert Hamby, Danny
Gibby, Cole Gibby, Rob
Hamby, John Allen and
Michael Burton.
For those who would

donation in her honor, she
had chosen the Currahee
Artists Guild, 61 Doyle St.,
Toccoa, Georgia 30577,
which is dedicated to the
arts and promoting local
art groups or The First
Baptist Church, 475 E. Tu-
galo Street, Toccoa, Geor-
gia. 30577.
Special thanks to the
amazing staff at the
Wilkinson Center and to
her hospice nurses, Sha-
conda Poole, Angela Mer-
ritt, Jamie Dooley, Brandy
Carter, Tereasa Fuller and
Caroline Culpeper with
Family Hospice.
Interment will follow in
the Toccoa City Cemetery
with the Acree-Davis Fu-
neral Home and Cremato-
ry in charge of the ar-
rangements for Bobbie E.
Hamby.
