Cecil Antwine Obituary

ecil Audell Antwine,
Jr., age 84, of Toccoa, Ga.,
beloved father, husband,
and brother, entered into
God's Kingdom on Friday,
June 6, 2025, at Hospice of
Northeast Georgia Medi-
cal Center in Gainesville
Born July 23, 1940, in
Aiken, S.C., Cecil was the
son of the late Cecil Audell
Sr. and Ruby Jewell Lucas
Antwine.
Cecil lived a life deeply
rooted in his unwavering
faith in God. He loved
studying the word and was
always eager to share the
truth of the Gospel with
those around him. His life
was a living testimony to
the love, grace, and wis-
dom of his Lord and Sav-
ior, Jesus Christ. Cecil ex-
emplified what it meant to
walk in faith.
One of his great pas-
sions was researching his
ancestry and tracing his
family tree. He spent
countless hours uncover-
ing family history, pre-
serving the legacy of those
who came before him, and
passing on stories that
might otherwise have
been forgotten. His dedica-
tion to understanding and
honoring his heritage re-
flected the same devotion
he gave to every part of his
life, his faith, his family,
and his purpose.
He proudly served his
country as a United States
Marine Corps veteran, and
he carried the values of
honor, duty, and service
with him throughout his
life.
He will be remembe
red
most for his deep love for
God and family.
Cecil is survived by his
wife, Susie Da
venport Bar
-
rett Antwine; son, Lance
Antwine (Dana); daughter,
Shaune Escoe (Rowdy);
stepsons, Kevin Barrett
(Pam), and Chris Barrett
(Ginger); grandchildren,
Zachary Escoe, Austin
Antwine (Logan), Spencer
Escoe, Kaylee Milner
(Bradley), and Ty
Barrett
(Hailey); and great-grand-
children, Greyson, Wes-
ley, and Hudson.
He is also survived by
his siblings: Barbara
Jones (Harold), Ray
Antwine (Peggy), Jimmy
Antwine (Gail), Mary Mc-
Comb, Linda Spell (Jef-
fery), and Avelene Mahan
(Charlie); as well as nu-
merous nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in
death by his beloved par-
ents, Cecil Antwine, Sr.,
and Ruby Lucas Antwine;
and his sisters, Madeline
Andrews and Betty Bal-
liew.
A celebration of his life
and faith was held at
Clarkesville Church of
God on Wednesday, June
11, 2025, at 2 p.m., with
Rev. Tim Tanner, Rev. .
Harold Jones, and Rev.
Tim Garrett officiating.
The family received
friends for visitation be-
ginning at 1 p.m. prior to
the service.
A graveside service fol-
lowed at Stephens Memo-
rial Gardens in Toccoa,
with Rev. Ralph Goss offi-
ciating. Military honors
were provided by the Unit-
ed State Marine Corps.
The following gentle-

Antwine, Spencer Escoe,

Revelation 21:4 KJV
"And God shall wipe
away all tears from their
eyes; and there shall be no
more death, neither sor-
row, nor crying, n
either
shall there be any more
pain: for the former things
are passed away."
