Mrs. Joyce Taylor
Segars Sheriff, age 87, of
Eastanollee, GA passed
away Saturday, June 28,
2025 at Northeast Georgia
Medical Center in
Gainesville, GA.
Born February 8, 1938
in Clarkesville, GA, she
was the daughter of the
late Henry Dillard Taylor
and Ellie Jay Shirley Tay-
lor.
Joyce attended Confi-
dence Methodist Church
and was a member of
Tates Creek Baptist
Church for many years
where she played the or-
gan and piano. She was
retired from Lawson Mo-
tor Company. Joyce cher-
ished her family and when
she and Leonard married,
she inherited a larger fam-
ily to love.
Family members in-
clude her husband,
Leonard Sheriff; sister-and
brother-in-law, Phyllis
Powell (Hubie); brother-in-
law, John Garrison;
daughters and sons-in-law,
Cynthia Hare (Richard)
and Sandra Fulghum
(Marty); sons and daugh-
ters-in-law, Christopher
Sheriff (Stephanie) and
Darian Sheriff (Ginger);
nine grandchildren; thir-
teen great-grandchildren;
and several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to her par-
ents, she was preceded in
death by her first hus-
band, Harold Segars; son,
Allan Sheriff; brothers,
Henry Taylor, Jr. and
Harold Taylor; and her sis-
ter, Elaine Garrison.
The family received
friends at the mortuary
from 1pm until 2:45pm
Sunday, July 6, 2025.
Funeral services were
held at three oclock Sun-
day, July 6, 2025 from the
Chapel of Whitlock Mortu-
ary.
The family had a Pri-
vate Graveside Service at
Tates Creek Baptist
Church Cemetery.
The following gentle-
men served as pallbearers;
Raleigh Fulghum, Cody
Fulghum, Chad Davis,
Keith Whitworth, Rick
Poole, and Shannon Garri-
son.
