Lillian Holmes Watson

Lillian Holmes Watson,
born on Dec. 25, 1932, in
Buffalo, N.Y., passed away
peacefully on Sept. 25,
2025, at the age of 92.
Lillian led a life marked
by dedication and service.
A proud veteran of the
United States Army, she
continued her commit-
ment to helping others
through her work as a
teacher, missionary, nan-
ny, and nurse. Her com-
passion and strength
touched the lives of many
throughout her varied ca-
reer.
She was preceded in
death by her beloved hus-
band, William Bryant Wat-
son, Jr., her parents, Nor-
man and Eva Holmes, and
her siblings, Norman
Holmes, Marge Dorman,
and Jo Holmes.
Lillian leaves behind a
loving family who will
cherish her memory: her
children, Deborah Holland
(Toby), William Bryant
Watson, III (Phyllis), Jack-
ie Watson, and John Wat-
son; her grandchildren,
Jennifer Dickie, Jessicah
Holland, Jamie Holland,
William Bryant Watson,
IV, and Jake Garland; her
great-grandchildren, Mack
Dickie, Caitlin Dickie, and
Kayleigh Holland; and her
great-great-granddaugh-
ter, Addison Dixon.
Her legacy of love and
service will be remem-
bered by all who knew
