Jackonski, age 90, passed
away peacefully, sur-
rounded by her daughter
and granddaughters at the
Clary Care Center in Toc-
coa, Ga., on Oct. 31, 2025.
Mrs. Jackonski moved
to Toccoa, Ga., two years
ago to be closer to her
daughter and family. Pre-
viously, she lived in Cadiz,
Ky., for 40 years, having
retired there with her hus-
band from Hollywood, Fla.
Mrs. Jackonski was born
on Oct. 4, 1935, in East
Meadow, N.Y.
"Miss Jean" as she was
affectionately called, is
survived by her daughter
and son-in-law, Patti and
Steve Lester, of Toccoa,
Ga., son and daughter-in-
law, Leon and Jill Jackon-
ski of Cadiz, Ky., and a
son, Steven Jackonski of
Davie, Fla. She is also sur-
vived by four grandchil-
dren, Melissa Lester, of
Martin, Ga., Erin and AR
Bramlett, of Woodbine,
Ga., Alex and Amber Jack-
onski and Grant Jackons-
ki, of Cadiz, Ky. She had
one brother, William J.
Ryan of Naples, Fla.,
whom she considered her
best friend and her niece
Gina Swartout and
nephews Bill and Chris
Ryan.
Mrs. Jackonski was pre-
ceded in death by her hus-
band of 47 years Leon J.
Jackonski, Sr., an infant
son, Steven Jackonski and
her parents, William J.
and Jessie J. Ryan.
Miss Jean was a retired
laboratory technician and
worked in both Holly-
wood, Fla. and Cadiz, Ky.
She loved to do crafts and
different art projects and
was especially good with
most technology, includ-
ing computers and cam-
eras. She was an avid face-
booker and loved to be
challenged by wordle with
a personal record of 50
plus sequential wins. She
loved to read.
She served as a volun-
teer with her son's base-
ball teams and a Girl
Scout volunteer in Holly-
wood, Fla. Upon moving to
Cadiz, Ky., she became in-
volved with the East Gold-
en Pond Volunteer Fire
Department, having
served as a fire fighter and
treasurer.
There will be a public
Committal Service at 1
p.m. prior to interment on
Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, at
the Kentucky Veterans
Cemetery West in Hop-
kinsville, Ky.
