Mary Alice Yearwod

Mary Alice Smith Year-
wood, age 90, of Toccoa,
went to be with her Lord
and Savior on Wednesday,
Dec. 3, 2025, at The Over-
look Senior Living in Toc-
coa.
Mrs. Yearwood was
born in Stephens County,
Georgia, on July 19, 1935,
to the late Thomas W. and
Ola Ellard Smith. In addi-
tion to her parents, she
was preceded in death by
her loving husband of 46
years, Charles Odes Year-
wood.
Mrs. Yearwood was a
devoted and faithful mem-
ber of the Old Toccoa Bap-
tist Church for most of her
life. She was a 1954 gradu-
ate of Eastanollee High
School. She retired from
Coats and Clark Roselane
Plant, with 46 years of loy-
al and dedicated service.
Family members in-
clude her daughter and
son-in-law, Mellony Kay
Yearwood (Dwain Hansel),
Sayers of Stockbridge, Ga.;
granddaughters and their
husbands, Michelle Sayers
(Shane) McCranie, of
Gray, Ga., Denise Sayers
(Chris White), of
Peachtree City, Ga.; great-
granddaughters, Summer
and Shelby McCranie, of
Gray, Ga.; great-grand-
sons, Alex, Luke, and
Owen White, of Peachtree
City, Ga. A host of cousins
also survive.
The family will receive
friends at Whitlock Mortu-
ary from 4-8 p.m. on Fri-
day, Dec. 12, 2025, and
from 11:30 a.m. until 12:15
p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13,
2025.
Funeral services will be
held at 1 p.m. Saturday,
Dec. 13, 2025, at Old Toccoa
Baptist Church with the
Rev. Roger Elrod and the
Rev. Scott Alexander offi-
ciating. Musical selections
will be provided by Mrs.
Vickie Herron.
Interment will follow in
Old Toccoa Baptist
Church Cemetery.
The following gentle-
men will serve as pallbear-
ers: Phillip McCroskey,
Stacy McCroskey, Corey
Meyers, Alex White, Luke
White, and Owen White.
In lieu of flowers, the
family requests that
memorials be made in
memory of Mrs. Yearwood
to Old Toccoa Baptist
Church, 122 Black Moun-
tain Road, Toccoa, Georgia
