Michael Allen Burns

Mr. Michael Allen
Burns, age 54, of Alto, Ga.,
passed away Sunday, July
27, 2025, at his home.
Born Feb. 26, 1971, in
Dothan, Ala., he was the
son of Linda Joyce DeFoor
Burns Gore and the late
Rev. Douglas Wayne
Burns.
Before he became dis-
abled, Mr. Burns was a
dump truck driver for
Tony Cook Trucking in
Cornelia, Ga. He was a
member of Tom's Creek
Baptist Church. In his
younger years, he enjoyed
going on youth mission
trips. He loved spending
time with his family.
Family members in-
clude his wife, Kippy Lynn
Burns, of Alto, Ga.; son,
Drew Burns, of Alto, Ga.;
mother, Linda Gore (John-
ny), of Toccoa; brother,
Bryan Burns (Lisa), of
Carnesville, Ga.; mother-
in-law and father-in-law,
Frankie & Elmo Andrews;
and numerous nieces and
nephews.
In addition to his fa-
ther, he was preceded in
death by his brother, Jef-
frey Burns.
The family received
friends at the mortuary
from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday,
July 29, 2025.
Funeral services were
held from the Chapel of
Whitlock Mortuary at 3
p.m. Wednesday, July 30,
2025, with the Rev. Wayne
Marcus and the Rev. Jason
DeFoor officiating.
Burial will follow at
Hunters Creek Baptist
Church Cemetery.
The following gentle-
men served as pallbearers:
Randy Callahan, Jeff
Caudell, Evan Burns,
Grayson York, Mike South
and Chris Powell.
