Mrs. Virginia "Neno"
Peyton Brown, age 90, of
Hilltop Lane, Toccoa,
passed away Thursday,
Oct. 30, 2025, at her home.
A daughter of the late
Rudolph Peyton and Inez
Ivester Peyton, she was
born Aug. 25, 1935, in
Franklin County, Georgia,
and lived most of her life
in Stephens County.
She worked for a num-
ber of years at Two Day
Design and Bar B Que
Shack in Toccoa. Neno
was of the Baptist faith
and loved the Lord. She
loved Christmas, baking
cakes, camping, yard
sales, auctions, shopping
and eating at Golden Coral
with her friends. She
loved to vacation in Bran-
son, Mo. She was a loving
wife, mother, grandmoth-
er, great-grand mother
and sister.
Family members in-
clude her daughter-in-law,
Diane Brown, of Toccoa;
granddaughters, Selena
(James) Rees, of Toccoa,
Sharon (Shane) Angel, of
Eastanollee; great-grand-
children, Lauren (Max)
Nunnally, Alayna Rees,
Mason (Brooke) Payne;
great-great-grandchildren,
Sophia Rees, Rose Rees,
Riggs Nunnally, and Brax-
ton Payne; sister, Valerie
Higginbotham, of Toccoa;
and numerous nieces and
nephews.
In addition to her par-
ents, she was preceded in
death by her husband Har-
rison Brown, a son Gary
"Rosy" Brown, two sisters
Cathleen Caudell and Car-
ol Neal, nephew Kevin
Higginbotham and broth-
er-in-law Ted Higginboth-
am.
The family received
friends at the mortuary on
Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, from
1 p.m. until the service
time.
Funeral services were
held Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025,
at 3 p.m. from the Chapel
of Whitlock Mortuary
with the Rev. Stacy Pen-
land and Mr. George
Hucky Neal officiating.
Burial followed at
Stephens Memorial Gar-
dens.
The following gentle-
men served as pallbearers:
James Rees, Shane Angel,
Mason Payne, Max Nun-
nally, Daniel Carter, and
George Hucky Neal.
A special thanks to
Sonya Rousey who stepped
in and helped us and Neno
in her time of need and
made her feel loved and
cared for in her final days.
