Wendell Alvin "Pete" McFarlin

Mr. Wendell Alvin
"Pete" McFarlin, age 85, of
the Red Hill Community
and formerly of the Mize
Community, passed away
Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, at
his residence surrounded
by his family.
A son of the late Noel
McFarlin and Minnie Lee
LeCroy McFarlin, he was
born May 9, 1940, in
Franklin County, Georgia,
having lived the majority
of his life in the Mize Com-
munity. He was a retired
construction worker, hav-
ing worked in Atlanta for
many years until his re-
tirement. He was a life-
long member of Hunters
Creek Baptist Church,
where he served on the
building committee for
many years. He and his
wife enjoyed trips on the
Gold Wing motorcycle to
the mountains, going to
classic car shows and gar-
dening. He was a loving
husband, father, brother
and papa.
In addition to his par-
ents, he was preceded in
death by a brother, Joel
McFarlin.
Survivors include his
wife, of 64 years, Pauline
Thurmond McFarlin of the
home; daughters, Paula
Jordan, of Toccoa and Pam
Woods, of Eastanollee;
grandson, Tyler Owenby,
of Martin; granddaugh-
ters, Brooke Owenby, of
Eastanollee, Erin Jordan
and Kayla Woodard, both
of Toccoa; six great-grand-
children; brothers, Den-
man McFarlin, of Martin
and Travis McFarlin, of
Red Hill; sister, Glenda
Slaton, of Toccoa; a num-
ber of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be
Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, at 3
p.m. at Hunters Creek
Baptist Church with the
Rev. Ben Huff officiating.
The following gentlemen
will serve as pallbearers,
Steve McFarlin, Lee Mc-
Farlin, Tim Brawner, Ted
Crunkleton, Cody Banks,
George Cornett and Barry
Adams.
The family will receive
friends at the Acree-Davis
Funeral Home on Satur-
day from 5-8 p.m. Online
