Darlene Howard, passed away at the age of 73, on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Hillview Nursing Home of Elizabethton, TN. Darlene was born July 5, 1951 in Johnson County, TN to the late Arvel Laws and Scarlet Faye Pierce Laws. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eddie Howard (November 24, 1997), and two sisters, Ruth Thomas and Jewell "Judy" Laws.
Darlene worked at Levi Strauss for over 20 years. She was a cut up and always ready to have fun. She enjoyed crocheting and yard sales. Darlene was a member of Midway Baptist Church.
Darlene is survived by her daughter, Donna Carpenter; sister, Shirley Campbell (David); brother, Charles Edward Laws (Sue); granddaughter, Samantha Carpenter; great-grandchildren, Autumn Rayne Carpenter and Elijah James Carpenter; childhood friend, Barbara Campbell; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Per Darlene's wishes, a graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at the Laws Cemetery with Pastor Leonard Fletcher officiating. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Laws, Michael "Gooney" Laws, Brandon Street, Justin Cox, Danny Shipman, and Tyler Trivette. Honorary pallbearer is Ricky Miracle.
At other times friends and family may visit the home of her granddaughter, Samantha at 1326 Rainbow Road, Mountain City, TN 37683.
