Reverend David F. Boothe

Alexandria - Graveside services for Reverend David F. Boothe were held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Midway Cemetery, Vardaman, Mississippi with Dr. B. David Brooks officiating, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.

Reverend David F. Boothe, 77, of Alexandria passed from this life, Tuesday, November 3, 2020 in Alexandria.

He was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi and was raised in Terry, Mississippi until he was in High School when his family moved to Price, Utah. After High School he moved back to attend Mississippi State University, where he received his Masters and finally attended Southwestern Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas. He was Associate Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church for 32 years beginning July 4, 1977 until his retirement March 1, 2009. He continued to do hospital visits for many years. He sang in the Calvary Choir and Senior Adult Choir for many years, and was very involved in the Senior Adult Ministries. He belonged to the Central Louisiana Baptist Association, where he served as Treasurer, and to the Religious Educators Association.

He was preceded in death by parents, Paul David and Gail Moore Boothe; great granddaughter, Lucy Rae Gaudet.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 58 years, Thelma Lantrip Boothe; son, David Alan Boothe and wife, Charlotte; daughter, Carla Denise Works and husband, Mickey; grandchildren, Devin Nicole Gaudet and husband, Christian, Eric Geoffrey Stafford, David York Boothe, and Sarah Ashley Bourgeois and husband Josh and one great grandchild, Lincoln Garrett Gaudet; and a host of other family members and friends.

The family has designated memorial contributions be made to Calvary Baptist Church Senior Adult Ministry or Music Ministry, 5011 Jackson Street, Alexandria, LA 71303.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

David Booth was a wonderful, caring man. My mother, Polly Stuart, loved him very much for his ministry at Calvary and for his ministry to her during her later years of life. Well done good and faithful servant!
