Gene Pastor Obituary
Funeral services for Mr. Gene Allen Pastor will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Bordelonville with Father Jose Robles-Sanchez officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Bordelonville, LA. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mr. Pastor, age 68, of Bordelonville, passed away at Ochsner Medical Center in Slidell on Sunday, October 4, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Essie Bordelon Pastor, sisters, Bernadine Maddie, Julia Rachal, Gloria Chatelain, and father-in-law, Noba Bordelon.
He served in the Naval Reserves. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, past member of Bordelonville Fire Department. Past foreman for Raymond, Int., Tudor Construction, and Valley Gaspard. He was a life-long farmer, gardener and loved carpentry work.
Survivors include his wife Renella Bordelon Pastor of Bordelonville, son, Heath Pastor of Bordelonville, 2 daughters, Heather P. Scimeca of San Francisco, CA, Jenna P. Hogan of Greenville, NC, 3 brothers, Francis, W. J. and Don Pastor, 3 sisters, Barbara Maddie, Linda Turner, Sherill Laborde, mother-in-law, Earline Bordelon, grandchildren, Kannon Pastor, Emma Pastor, Carlo Scimeca, Cohen Hogan, and Griffin Hogan.
Visitation will be held at St. Peter's Church Hall in Bordelonville on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will resume Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. until shortly before time of service. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Jason Hogan, Dario Scimeca, John Robert Laborde, Kenneth Maddie, Mark Chatelain, and Joel Rachal. Cross bearers will be Kannon Pastor, Emma Pastor, and Cohen Hogan. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Armand, Kenneth Bordelon, L.P. Bordelon, Kenneth Maillet, Glenn Marcotte, Roger Normand, and Robert Matherne.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations made to St. Peter's or St. Michael's Catholic Church in the memory of Gene Pastor.

Ms. Renella,
My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family for the lost of such a wonderful person. My dad loved Mr. Gene so much. I hope that they are together in some way. I thought today of how many miles Mr. Gene road in my dad's truck. They would leave too early in the morning for us to see them leave, but we were there to see them come home every night. Now Mr. Gene has made his final trip home. I pray that God gives you strength and comfort during this time. My prayers are with you all
