Jacob Mathis, Jr.

Funeral services for Jacob Mathis, Jr. will be held at 11 am , Monday, July 27, 2015 in the Long Leaf Baptist Church of Glenmora with the Reverends Scott Burns, Robert McLane, and Wayne Dunn officiating. Committal service will follow in the New Hope Cemetery of Calcasieu under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Jacob, 81, of Glenmora, entered eternal rest Saturday, July 25, 2015 in Christus St Frances Cabrini, Alexandria with his loving family by his side. He was born on September 3, 1933 in Glenmora. He was a welder, pipefitter, and a veteran of the United States Navy.

He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memory: his wife, Helen Ruth Sanderson Mathis of Glenmora; three sons, Kenneth Mathis and wife Barbara of Foley, Alabama, Brian Mathis and wife Sharon of Dayton, Texas, and Johnny Mathis of Oakdale; five daughters, Ruth Thompson and husband Cordis of Glenmora, Brenda Doyle and husband Sampson of Glenmora, Linda Stanley of Glenmora, Sondra Doyle and husband Steve of Pitkin, and Pamela Lambright of Glenmora; twenty one grandchildren; forty one great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers to serve will be Brian Jacob Mathis, Daniel Stanley, Chase Lambright, D.D. Doyle, Jason Thompson, and Sampson Lee Doyle.

Friends may call today from 8 am until time of service at 11 in the church.

So sorry for your loss. Jr was a very special and very kind person. He will be missed by all. God has a special angel now. Prayers sent for the family.
