James Foster Obituary

James Rudolph Foster

James Rudolph Foster, age 90 of Winnfield, Louisiana went to be with the Lord, Monday, March 4, 2013.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winnfield for 80 years where he taught Sunday School for 60 years, was a deacon for 50 years, and a Royal Ambassador Counselor for many years. Mr. Foster was retired from Bellsouth Telephone Company and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.

Mr. Foster was the son of the late Robert Foster and the late Mattie Anders Foster. He was also preceded in death by his wife Mabel Brewer Foster, daughter Betty Jo Rasbury, son Jimmy Foster, and a brother Weston G. Foster.

Survivors include one daughter Shirley Raye Foster Caron and husband Robert, son Weston Foster and wife Phylis of Shreveport, son Harry Foster and wife Vicky of Winnfield. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013 in the First Baptist Church of Winnfield with Reverend Stephen Laughlin officiating. Interment will follow in the Sardis Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home on Tuesday, from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Adam Foster, Michael Foster, Joe Collins, James Rasbury, Cody Persilver, Justin Collins.
