Joseph Saizan Obituary
Funeral services for Joseph Henry "Pete" Saizan will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, February 20, 2015 in the Horseshoe Drive Baptist Church of Alexandria with Reverend Aubrey officiating. Committal services will follow in the Alexandria Memorial Garden under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Alexandria.
"Pete", 80, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 14, 2015 in Alexandria. He was born August 12, 1934 in Opelousas to Henry Joseph and Beatrice Milligan Saizan. He attended high school at Port Barre High School and later served as a reserve police office for Port Barre. He was a longtime president of Mid-South C.B. Club of Alexandria. "Pete" retired from the International Paper Mill as a foreman and wood yard scaler. He enjoyed socializing and telling jokes, loved to make people laugh, particularity children. "Pete" was an enthusiastic musician who loved performing as well as listening to all of the classic country artists. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Albert Saizan; and sister, Marlene Hardy.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are: his loving wife, Iris Faye Saizan of Alexandria; two sons, Shane Saizan of Alexandria and Steve Saizan of Pass Christian, Mississippi; two daughters, Stacie Saizan and Shelly Saizan both of Alexandria; sister, Anna Spires of Katy, Texas; six grandchildren, Chelsey Saizan, Ashton Thornhill, Shane Saizan, Jr., Samuel Saizan, Danielle Saizan, and Hannah Saizan; one great granddaughter, Emmie Hernandez; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be Kevin Hardy, Robert Hardy, Jr., Jeffrey Cannon, Shane Saizan, Jr., David Michot, and Larry Dupont. Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Rodney Delaney, Richard Moore, and Dr. Darryl Aguilar.
Visitation will begin Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., then on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 8 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. in the church.

My thoughts and prayers have been with y'all through this tough time. I will always remember the laughs we had around him with his constant joking. I know he loved you all ...always bragging about the family and sharing everything you kids accomplished. He was so proud of you all.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family .. I grew up having MR.Pete and Ms.Fahy in my house ...They were part of our family for a long time ... When we traveled from Tennessee to visit family Mr. Pete made sure he came over to visit us...It meant a lot to us all...If we listen real close maybe we will be able to hear him and my daddy playing guitars and singing for us ...Rest in Peace Mr.Pete give Daddy my love and a big kiss for my sister Cathy ..

I will miss Mr. Pete. He never met a stranger and always had a joke to put a smile on your face and he enjoyed cb's and his hat collection. He will be missed by many.
