June Walden Champion

Funeral service for June Walden Champion will be held 3 PM Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Campti United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Thomas K. Smith and Rev. Ron Henkie officiating. Burial will be at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. Visitation will be Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 11 AM until service time in the church.

Mrs. Champion, 82, of Coushatta, died Friday, April 15, 2011, in Grace Home at Shreveport.

She was a native of Sabine Parish. She was a retired business owner and a member of Campti United Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Douglas Champion; grandson, Richard Conrad Hudson; brother-in-law, Art Decker; parents, Celers Walden and Melissa Isabell 'Beth' Lites Walden.

She is survived by one daughter, Suanne Champion Poche and husband Byron of Shreveport; two sons, Bruce Douglas Champion, Jr. of Coushatta and Rodney Walden Champion of Shreveport; five grandchildren, Terri Scott Foley, Bruce Douglas Champion, III, Melissa Ann Champion Horton and husband Brandon Thomas, Joseph Walden Champion, and Jared Rodney Champion; daughters-in-law, Martha Smith Champion Sparks of Natchitoches and Penny Bordelon Champion; three great grandchildren, Samantha Jo Foley, Fallon Katlyn Foley, and William Joseph Champion; great-great-grandchild, Karson Michael Wilkerson; one sister, Billie Walden Scott Decker.

Pallbearers will be Douglas Champion, William Champion, Joseph Champion, Jared Champion, Brandon Horton, and Larry Scott.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael DeBlieux, John H. Smith, and Donald Smith.

Memorials may be made to Christus Grace Home, 1035 Margaret Place, Shreveport, La. 71101, Campti United Pentecostal Church, P O Box 282, Campti, La. 71411, or the charity of the donor's choice.
