Funeral services for Mr. Self will be Thursday, July 24 , 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Rush Funeral Home Chapel, Pineville, La. with the Reverend Myron Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Tioga Cemetery, Tioga. Arrangments under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.

Lynn Self, 61, of Natchitoches, La. entered eternal rest on Monday, July 21, 2014 in Natchitoches Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Self was a native of Rayville. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. He was a lifelong farmer, and also worked for many years as a pipefitter on plant shut-downs for Brown & Root, Inc. He was President for the Central Louisiana Chapter of A.B.A.T.E. for many years. He loved fishing and riding his Harley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Vera Self.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 32 years, Shirley Self of Natchitoches; his daughters, Tricia DeBarge (Chuck) of Dickinson, TX, Kimberly Borchardt (Chace) of Saginaw, TX, Deana Summerhill (Jason) of West Monroe, La.; his brothers, Bill Self (Trink) of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, Raymond Self (Donna) of Monroe, La., his sisters, Lola Kay Stutts (Sidney) of Bastrop, La., Bobbie Miller of Monroe, La., Barbara McGaha (Gerald) of Hurst, TX.; also survived by his 3 grandchildren, Chloe DeBarge, Ethan Borchardt, Drake Summerhill.

Visitation will be at Rush Funeral Home Chapel, Pineville on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. at Rush Chapel.

Pallbearers honored to serve are, Scott McGaha, Darwin Miller, Johnny Bordelon, John Griffin, Justin Ganson, Chace Borchardt, Chuck DeBarge, Steve Griffin.
