Mino Holguin Obituary

Mino Holguin III
"Titanium"
April 1983 - June 2013
Melchor Holguin III, 30,  of Atwater died tragically in the early morning hours on Tuesday, June 4th.  Mino was born in Modesto, CA to Melchor Holguin, Jr. and Tammy Raymond, and was raised in the Turlock area and attended Turlock High. Around the age of 11 Mino's family moved to Groveland, where they lived for a few years.
During this time, Mino found what would become a lifelong passion of hunting, fishing and the life outdoors; he was an avid outdoorsman. This is a passion and heritage that he shared with his family and many of his close friends. This passion has been passed onto his children, who will forever carry out his dreams.
He had a big wonderful heart; he would do anything for anyone. He would give the shirt off his back or the last $2 in his pocket if you needed it. He never turned down a call from a friend in need, whether it was a drive to the hills to help find a few lost dogs, a jump start, or a helping hand.  His smile and laughter filled a room. He was generous, giving and loyal; he stood behind his word and made no excuses for who he was, what he believed in and what he loved. He didn't have many "friends", because to him, you were family. Mino had two loves in his life, hunting and his family/friends. He enjoyed spending time together and was always encouraging everyone to "stop on by."
Mino was a long-time member of the Modesto Houndsman, and the current Vice President of the California Sporting Dog Assoc. Turlock Chapter.
He is survived by his long-time companion Katherine "Kat" Smith of Atwater; his daughter Mya Kalysta Holguin; stepchildren Jordan and Jasmine Delgado; father Melchor "Big Mino" Holguin of Turlock; mother Tammy (Edward) Rhinehart of Livingston; grandparents Florencia and Melchor Holguin, Sr., and Bill and Alice Raymond, all of Turlock. He is also survived by his siblings Misty Holguin, Christopher Holguin, and Sarah Holguin, all of Turlock and Chris Rhinehart of Atwater.
Allen Mortuary is entrusted in with the arrangements. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 11th from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be at Allen Mortuary on Wednesday, June 12th at 3:00 pm.
Memorial donations can be made directly to Allen Mortuary or online at http://smallgameamerica.com where a memorial fund has been established.

I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Mino for only a shot period of time. He was always respectful, honest, and genuine. We had many conversations about life and all he wanted to accomplish. Mino was, and always will be in my thoughts and will truly be missed. I pray the Lord will be with the Holguin family during this difficult time. Rest in Peace My Friend.

If life could only bring again, the days I took for granted when
To hear your voice was just a call away
Oh what I'd give for just some time, to say the things that slipped my mind
There's so much now I'd really like to say
But I can never go back when we did the things we did back then
I'll store those precious memories in my mind
I'll take what you've instilled in me; I'll try to be all I can be
And walk the path that you have left behind

I sure miss you; life will never be the same with you not here
Each passing day has brought much pain
But with God's grace my strength remains
I sure miss you, but heaven's sweeter with you there

The little things that seemed so small are now gold in a memory vault
I cherish every one I have of you
Now I can see and recognize the part you played to shape my life
I often see you in the things I do
In God's design and master plan He saw the hurting hearts of man
As we would say goodbye to those so dear
So with our family and friends we'll be together once again
We'll view all heaven's splendor hand in hand.....

RIP Mino
May God comfort the many lives you touched, you will be missed.
Our heartfelt sympathy,
Rick & Julie

Knowing your Mom and Grandmother for the past 4 years, I only had the chance to meet you a couple of times, I knew a lot about your life, you traveled some rough roads along the way, but those bumpy roads made the kind of person you had become. You were a wonderful son, grandson, brother, father and friend.
To witness the unfaltering faith that your Mom and Grandmother have in God has been nothing short of amazing, I have been so blessed through all of this----It makes me want to be more like them.....and that's a good thing.
Thank you Mino....RIP...We'll see you on the other side.
My deepest sympathy to your family and friends....
