Mrs. Patricia "Shan" Reynolds Disman
Memorial services for Patricia "Shan" Reynolds Disman will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria with Reverend Bob Braly officiating. Burial will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
The family requests that visitation be observed Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
Mrs. Disman, 82, of Alexandria passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Grace Home, in Cabrini Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Pittsburg, Texas, on September 23, 1932. She was a loving wife and stay-at-home mom. Her many interests included being an Eastern Star, a realtor, and a dress shop owner. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady. She enjoyed sports from an early age and was a big sports fan. Shan was a Silver Life Master in Duplicate Bridge. She traveled all over the South to tournaments. She also taught adult Bible classes for 40 years at Horseshoe Drive Baptist Church. Shan and her husband Jim loved to travel. They visited and explored every state in the U. S., all provinces of Canada and much of Mexico as well as taking several cruises.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James A. "Jim" Disman, son, James "Dennis" Disman, parents, Carl and Maxine Reynolds and sister, Shirlie Opperman.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Jennifer Parker, grandsons, Eric Disman, Corey Parker and wife, Ally, granddaughters, Anya Parker, Jennifer Amanda "Mandy" Disman and her children, Zachary Disman and Zoe Boswell; brother, Jim Reynolds and wife, Helen. Also included are daughter-in-law, Beverly Disman Roy and husband, Rick as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
We wish to extend a very special thanks to Cabrini Cancer Center and Cabrini's Grace Home, Dr. J. Michael Conerly, Dr. Ulla Ule, Dr. Lawrence Menache, Kasey Gill N. P., and a very special caregiver, Janet Eskew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Cabrini Cancer Center or to Grace Home at Cabrini.
