Patsy Slaughter Obituary
Patsy Nell Hayward Slaughter will be at 11 am on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at New Scott Olly Baptist Church with the Bishop Lynell Smith Pastor and Rev. William Dearbone officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Cemetery under the direction of Gonzaque-Williams Mortuary.
Mrs. Patsy Slaughter, 51 of Alexandria passed away Sat. Feb. 15, 2014 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Ja'Nell Slaughter; parents Eugene and Rosie Lee Hayward; brothers Spencer Hall, Eugene Hayward Jr., and Leroy Hayward Sr.; sisters Jewel Hayward Reed, Mary Hayward Hatter, and Cora Hayward Noel.
Survivors inlcude husband James Slaughter of 27 years; son James Slaughter Jr. (Korussia) of Baton Rouge; daughter Jalisa Slaughter of Alexandria; grandchild Jalayah Slaughter of Baton Rouge; brother Robert Hayward Sr. (Julie) of Desoto Texas, Walter Hayward Sr. (Martha) of Detroit Michigan, and Joseph Hayward of Alexandria; sisters Ida Hayward Nash (Wilmer), and Pamela Hayward Vallien (Michael) both of Alexandria.
Friends may call 9 am until time of service.
Special thanks to Dr. Abi-Rached and the staff of Hematology Oncology Life Center.

To the Hayward & Slaughter Families, my deepest sympathy. Patsy was a classmate of mine and I had the privilege to see her and speak to her in Walmart while I was visiting in Alexandria some years ago. It was a pleasure to see her. Our Father in Heaven has a special job for her and knowing Patsy, she had her bag of candies to share with all of the angels. I pray God will bring comfort to Patsy families & friends.

Patsy was such a sweet lady! I looked forward to working on the same shift at Mervyn's with her because I knew we would have a good day. She was such a joy to be around! She will be missed very much. RIP Patsy...it was an honor to have known you. Praying for strength & peace for the family.
