Funeral services for Tilman Ogea will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in the chapel of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie with Dennis Brown officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be at a later date in the Reddell cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

Visitation will be at Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 4:30 p.m - 9:00 p.m. and will resume on Wednesday from 8:00 am - 9:45 a.m.

Mr. Ogea, age 82, of Bunkie, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Bunkie General Hospital. He was born on December 11, 1933 in Reddell, LA. He served in the Marine Corps Platoon 476 during the Korean War. He was employed with Bordens Milk Company for forty plus years. After retirement, he went to work for the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Department. He enjoyed his job and was a hard-working and honest man.He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He had a heart of gold and a wonderful sense of humor. He had a love for animals and enjoyed driving his Ford Model T. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Ogea, grandson, CHad Roy, brothers, Harring Ogea and Harrison Ogea and his sister, Joyce Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Rita D. Ogea of Bunkie; two daughters, Debra Boudreaux and husband, Moses, of Baker, LA and Peggy Scroggs and husband, Calvin, of Joplin, MO; one son, Kenneth Ogea and wife, Christina, of Lecompte; one sister, Audrey Bailey of Lecompte; one brother, Darrell Oge and wife, Mona, of San Diego, CA; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. www.melanconfunerals.com.
