William Barridge Obituary
Mr. William E. Barridge, age 90, of Calvin left this earth to join his Father in Heaven for eternal life on Saturday, June 11, 2011, at L.S.U. Medical Center in Shreveport.
Ed was born September 26, 1920 in Wyatt, Louisiana and was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Geneva Barridge and wife of 54 years, Maggie D. Carpenter Barridge.
Ed was a member of Yankee Springs Baptist Church. He served in the US Navy and was a WWII veteran. He was employed with the Winn Forestry Service upon retirement and his favorite past time was feeding and watching the birds.
Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Dr. Benny D. Barridge and wife Judy of Harrison, Arkansas; two daughters, Janice Howell and husband Jay of Dodson, Glenda Corbitt and husband Buddy of Calvin; nine grandchildren, Justin Barridge and wife Nora, Michael Corbitt and wife Denise, Renita Wall and husband Otis, Jason Corbitt and wife Jennifer, Shannon Lasyone and wife Margaret, Patrick Howell and wife Courtney, Terry Howell and wife Melissa, Bryan Lasyone and Debbie Melton; twelve great-grandchildren, Sean Lasyone, Colby Lasyone, Dustin Lasyone, Kelli Melton, Cody Melton, Katie Melton, Taylor Corbitt, Mark Corbitt, Shayne Corbitt, Hunter Corbitt, Kayden Corbitt and Rowan Barridge; three great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family in the Southern Funeral Home on Monday, June 13, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until time of services.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in the Southern Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Lamar Carpenter, Rev. David Wilson and Rev. Glyn Mixon officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Justin Barridge, Jason Corbitt, Michael Corbitt, Bryan Lasyone, Shannon Lasyone and Otis L. Wall II.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Melton, Sean Lasyone, Colby Lasyone, Dustin Lasyone, Ronnie Corbitt and Dr. Jerry Allen.
Memorials may be made to Yankee Springs Baptist Church.
