Grant Riddle

February 7, 1929 – November 16, 2024

Grant Cook Riddle was born on February 7, 1929 to Edna Beulah Cook and Homer Plummer Riddle in Washington DC. He grew up in Penn, Pennsylvania and joined the Navy in 1948. After serving in the US Navy Submarine Service during the Korean conflict, he attended Pennsylvania State University where he received his degree in Engineering.

He lived and worked in Silicon Valley for over 40 years in multiple roles supporting the development, sales and testing of many of the technological advances made during that era. He was very proud of being a part of this innovative technology growth. In parallel with his professional pursuits, he enjoyed writing both fiction and non-fiction.

After his retirement in 2002, he moved to Nevada County. During his retirement years, he enjoyed designing, building and upgrading homes, square dancing, and spending time with his dogs.

Grant is survived by his wife, Carol; his two daughters, Andra Riddle Goddard of Caen, France and Dianne Riddle Franke of Kingwood, Texas; stepson, Daniel Paul Tober of Placerville; and 11 grandchildren, Aaron, Ryan and Nathan Franke, Madeleine Claire Goddard, Caleb Tober, Kalob Davis, Olivia, Lucia, Grayson and Lucas Gregory, and Elena Tober.

A Celebration of Grant's Life will be held at Twin Cities Church,11726 Rough and Ready Road, Grass Valley, CA at 11 am on Tuesday, January 21st.
